“Kadin Asks Government to Give Opportunities to Local Entrepreneurs in Procurement of Medical and Laboratory Equipment.” The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has asked the government to give opportunities to local entrepreneurs in the procurement of medical and laboratory equipment. This was conveyed by Rd. Kartono Dwidjosewojo, a Kadin member, in a meeting with government officials.\
“We hope the government won’t centralize the procurement of medical and laboratory equipment, so that local entrepreneurs in the regions can continue to contribute and operate,” said Rd. Kartono.
According to him, centralized procurement can stifle local businesses in the regions. “We have 1,600 member companies, and 80% of them are in the regions. If procurement is centralized, regional companies will struggle to compete,” he said.
Rd. Kartono also asked the government to provide leniency to local businesses in procuring medical and laboratory equipment. “We hope the government will provide opportunities for local businesses to continue contributing to the procurement of medical and laboratory equipment, thereby boosting the regional economy,” he said.
During the meeting, Rd. Kartono also discussed the importance of increasing the budget for health and education. “We hope the government can increase the budget for health and education, so that it can improve the quality of life for the people and boost the national economy,” he said.
The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) hopes that the government will consider the aspirations of local entrepreneurs in formulating policies, so that it can improve the country’s economy and increase public welfare.
